Our brands

A research company that publishes.

JGD Media Group’s publishing arm is a research business. Together, our sites work as one data collection network, gathering reader data and geo-data, and we repackage what they gather into findings, reports and datasets that we sell. Alongside it: local publishing, software tools, consulting and info products.

Reader data, not guesswork

Our sites are data businesses that happen to publish great articles.

Most publishers guess what readers want. Ours ask, then publish the answer. Across home, style, travel, food, autos, the outdoors and more, every reader response becomes a data point we can measure. Layered with geo-data, it shows what people want and where.

Readers reactVotes, reactions, saves and poll answers across every site.
We tag everything49,000+ images classified by attribute, so a reaction becomes a data point.
We measure honestlyMinimum sample sizes and confidence intervals. Thin data is labelled, never dressed up.
Findings go back outInto the articles for readers, and into reports and placements for brands.

For readers

Advice that shows what thousands of people like you actually picked.

  • “Readers picked” findings woven into articles across every topic we cover.
  • Polls and hot-or-not votes that let readers compare their taste with everyone else’s.
  • Daily newsletters and Substacks with the newest results first.

For brands

First-party preference data from people mid-decision, not a panel survey.

  • Preference Index reports: what’s winning in each category, with sample sizes on every chart.
  • Topic-targeted placements: your brand on the topics it belongs in, measured with our own numbers.
  • Newsletter and sponsored features across our publishing network.

Founder

Built by Jon Dykstra, on the North Shore.

Jon started out practising law in British Columbia and blogging on the side. When Home Stratosphere took off, publishing gradually became his full-time work. Today a team of writers and editors creates the content, while AI workflows he designed run the operations around it. He shares that playbook through Dykstra AI.

Let’s build something readers love.

Advertising, sponsorships, data reports, partnerships or press. We answer every message.
